Tour of ERC

The ERC indoor training facility made its debut in 1995. The building houses a modest state-of-the-art indoor rowing tank which provides ongoing technique development to our members throughout the winter months despite the frozen river. It also serves as a starting point for the would-be rowers to help them learn the basic movements of rowing. There are two parts to the facility, a multifunctional area and the rowing tank itself.

The tank can seat up to 8 rowers and be adapted for both sweeping and sculling. Mirrors on all four sides of the room gives the rower a great perspective on their catches and finishes. The oars are specially designed for the rowing tank with a lightweight aluminum hollow frame. Extended platforms surrounds the perimeter, giving our coaches the freedom to move around the "shell" for a 360 degree view.

The multifunction area includes separate changerooms for men and women. The main workout area can house up to 10 ergometers and can be configured to accomodate weights and other exercise equipments. A TV is also available overhead for video playback or general viewing pleasure.
