I, the undersigned, understand and hereby agree that rowing and sculling include activities both on land and on the water (all of which are the “Rowing Activities”) that involve certain risks and dangers incidental thereto. Rowers do not face the direction in which they are rowing in boats that, to a greater or lesser extent, are unstable and not designed to handle rough water conditions. Risks include, but are not limited to, injury from collision with another vessel or stationary objects and from the malfunctioning of equipment and injury or drowning as a result of capsizing or being swamped by waves from passing vessels or adverse weather. Such risks are increased when the air or water temperature is low creating the risk of hypothermia. I also understand that the physical exertion of rowing, including carrying boats in and out of the water, can result in injury or death. I further agree and acknowledge that:

You must sign up for your Bingo dates at the time of registration. Alternatively you may pay out all or part of your bingo requirements at a rate of $100 per bingo at the time of registration. You can also exchange one bingo for coaching a high school rowing program, Learn to Row, Row for Life or Row for Kids. (Coaching volunteers must be qualified and must arrange to coach with the program coordinator prior to claiming this exemption) ERC can be fined $500 or more if an inadequate number of bingo workers show up. Therefore, if you sign up for Bingo dates cheques in the amount of $100 will be taken when registering. Comp Rowers will provide four cheques (post dated Jul. 1, 2010; Sep 1, 2010; Nov. 1, 2010 and May 1, 2011) and Rec Rowers will provide three cheques (post dated Jul 1; Sep 1 and Nov 1). Your cheque will be cashed if you fail to show up at your Bingo on time. If you sign up for Bingo dates, it is your responsibility to ensure that your Bingo dates are covered. You may make your own arrangements for someone else to work your Bingo dates, but the Bingo dates remain your responsibility and you will be fined if your replacement worker is late or does not show up. It is not the Club’s responsibility to find replacement workers for you. If you have made arrangements for a replacement worker to work your Bingo please notify the Bingo Director in advance.

I consent to working this many bingos (enter number in field, 4 for competitive, 3 for recreation) prior to May 1, 2010

The Edmonton Rowing Club relies heavily on the involvement of all club members to maintain our programs. There are a variety of opportunities to complete your volunteer hours. Assisting at regattas, facility cleanups, fundraisers, and committee work are just a few examples. To ensure that the Club’s volunteer needs are met, the Volunteer Coordinator may ask you to fulfill some of your volunteer hours at a particular event such as a regatta. Please help your club by cooperating with the Volunteer Coordinator if at all possible .Volunteer hours must be completed by November 1, 2010.
